A THIRD of people have had to take a “digital detox” because they spend more time using gadgets than they do sleeping.

Our overall daily use of the internet, watching TV and listening to radio totals eight hours and 45 minutes.

Internet use claims 25 hours a week — or as many as 29 hours for 16 to 24-year-olds, a report claims.

Many neglect housework and miss out on sleep or time with family.

It has prompted 15million people, or 34 per cent of all internet users, to take between a day and a month off from devices in the past year.
